Audiovisual Page

Radio and video are excellent ways of using ICTs for sharing experiences and good practices from projects in agriculture, forestry, fisheries or rural development with a large audience, and illiterate people. Audiovisual material can describe and illustrate a good practice and transfer information in a very effective way, showing step-by-step what the experience is about. Audiovisual material can also be used for training beneficiaries of initiatives. In rural areas, illiteracy often remains high and bringing together moving images and sound is often the best way to enable farmers to learn about new techniques.

Many projects use participatory audiovisual techniques, working directly with the beneficiaries to produce the audiovisual material. This allows the participants to get used to the new technologies and learn how to use them in their day to day lives. At the same time participatory audiovisual techniques ensure that the audiovisual product corresponds to the needs of the target group and improves the recognisability among the target audience.

This audiovisual page brings together different types of audiovisual material from different projects. If you would like to suggest a new audiovisual product for this page, please contact [email protected]. Members can post their own audiovisual products, using the Audiovisual topic tag.
