Mon expérience avec l’équipe e-Agriculture / My e-Agriculture experience

Ce stage à e-Agriculture aura incontestablement été une expérience des plus enrichissantes. Passionné par l’utilisation des TIC dans l’agriculture, force est de constater qu’il m’aurait été difficile de trouver meilleur endroit pour améliorer mes compétences et approfondir mes connaissances. En effet, tout au long de ces trois mois, j’ai eu la chance d’accéder à l’immense masse d’informations de la FAO, mais aussi de rester informé des dernières innovations et tendances en e-agriculture, me donnant par là même une bonne vue d’ensemble du secteur. Grâce aux recherches en ligne que j’ai conduit ainsi qu’aux forums d’e-Agriculture, j’ai pu découvrir et m’intéresser à de nombreux débats de hauts niveaux sur les usages futurs des TIC dans l’agriculture.

Ces trois mois ont été très formateurs à la fois en termes de management de communauté en ligne, de veille sur Internet, mais aussi en ce qui concerne la gestion de site web. J’ai notamment t pu bénéficier d’une formation sur le SGC Drupal.

En plus de cette extraordinaire expérience humaine, multiculturelle, j’ai pu parfaire ma connaissance et ma compréhension de la FAO. J’ai ainsi pu me familiariser avec le travail de la branche OEKC et ai énormément  appris durant les réunions hebdomadaires de l’équipe. Au cours de ces conversations, j’ai pu apercevoir les tendances et challenges du futur, notamment concernant l’importance du genre, dans le secteur des TIC et de l’agriculture, ce qui fut pour moi du plus haut intérêt.

Enfin, il est important de souligner que mon environnement de travail fut exceptionnel ; l’équipe au sein de laquelle j’ai travaillé, extrêmement sympathique et ouverte n’a eu de cesse de m’accompagner pour  rendre mon expérience des plus profitables. J’ai reçu le soutien de mes collègues à chaque fois que j’en ai eu besoin ce qui m’a permis de considérablement améliorer mes compétences.

Je leur suis particulièrement reconnaissant d’avoir été là pour moi, pour leur patience, mais aussi pour tout ce qu’ils m’ont appris et pour m’avoir permis de découvrir les véritables merveilles de Rome.

This internship with the e-Agriculture team has definitively been a valuable experience. Passionate about the use of ICTs in agriculture, I couldn’t find a better position to improve both my skill and knowledge. Indeed, during these three months I had access to a lot of FAO materials, and was also updated on the latest innovation and trends in e-agriculture, which gave me a really good overview of the sector. Due to my online research as part of my e-Agriculture work, and also the online forums, I had  the chance to observe a lot of high level discussion dealing with the future of the use of ICTs in Agriculture.

Also, these three months have been really formative for online community management, internet research, and also for website management, as I had the chance to train on and work with the Community’s CMS (Drupal).

In addition to the wonderful human and multicultural experience, I had the opportunity to learn more about the FAO. I became familiar with the work of the Knowledge and Capacity for Development branch and learned a lot during our weekly team meetings. Moreover, during these conversations I was able to catch sight of future trends and challenges, notably about the importance of gender in the ICT and agriculture sector, which was of utmost interest to me.

Last but not least, the working environment was really amazing. The team is extremely friendly and open minded, and always looking forward to help me to make my best of my time with them. I received support every time I needed and they also helped me to improve my skills.

I really want to thank all of them for being there for me, for they patience, all the things they taught to me, and to help me to visit the real wonders of Rome.
