Starting today, Monday 09 June 2014, and until Friday 13 June 2014, all key stakeholders (Governments, International Organizations and Non-state actors) will meet at International Telecommunications Union (ITU)'s Headquarters in Geneva for the WSIS+10 High Level Event, coordinated by ITU and co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP. In this occasion, they will discuss and review "progress made in the implementation of the WSIS outcomes under the mandates of participating agencies, and to take stock of achievements in the last 10 years based on reports of WSIS Stakeholders, including those submitted by countries, Action Line Facilitators and other stakeholders. The event will review the WSIS Outcomes (2003 and 2005) related to the WSIS Action Lines with the view of developing proposals on a new vision beyond 2015, potentially including new targets".
The e-Agriculture Community of Practice, whose origins lay in the Geneva Plan of Action (developed after the first phase of WSIS, Geneva 2003), and more precisely under Action Line C7. e-agriculture, will be actively engaged in all discussions.
More specifically, on Thursday 12 June 2014, at 16.45 (Geneva time, GMT+2), will take place the Action Line Facilitation Meeting "C7. e-Agriculture: Moving forward, building on 10 years of lessons learned in e-Agriculture".
The meeting is organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and it aims to look at the future closer to be better prepared to tackle future challenges.
