The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, in collaboration with the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and Quadrant Conseil, is extremely pleased to announce the launch of a new E-learning course entitled:"Developing a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan for Food Security and Agriculture Programmes", freely accessible through the FAO elearning Center: www.fao.org/elearning/#/elc/en/Course/ME

This e-learning course, partly funded by the European Union, has been designed to support countries and regions in planning the information needs for monitoring, pilotage and evaluation during the life of their Food and Nutrition Security and Agriculture programmes.

The course offers practical guidance on building an M&E system which is feasible, reliable, practical and relevant to the programme’s needs. Although the course focuses on large-scale development programmes that address food insecurity, the approaches and methods presented are equally applicable to smaller projects.

The target audience for this course includes professionals involved in managing a programme, designing an M&E system, leading research or implementing M&E activities, and all those who wish to have concrete guidance on how to apply M&E methods to their programmes.
