Greetings from e-Agriculture! Summer is over, and we are now all back and looking towards the year ahead. There are many plans for the community, and we will be sending another newsletter in the next couple of weeks. E-Agriculture Policy Brief
From 29 April to 15 May 2015, the e-Agriculture Community of Practice organized its 25th e-Agriculture forum “Towards National e-Agriculture Strategies” in collaboration with FAO, ITU and CTA.
The forum discussion is available on the platform under forum archive and the policy brief, summarizing the outcomes of the forum, can be downloaded here.
WSIS Process 2015
The WSIS Forum 2015 was held from the 25 – 29 May 2015 in Geneva. The Forum attracted more than 1800 WSIS Stakeholders from more than 140 countries. On-site and remote participation increased tremendously this year. E-Agriculture was also present at the forum, actively participating and presenting.

The WSIS Process 2015 continues working towards the General Assembly High Level Meeting (15 & 16 December) to undertake the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of WSIS. This high level meeting is preceded by a intergovernmental process that also takes into account inputs from all relevant stakeholders.
Upcoming a-Agriculture Events
GFRAS Annual Meeting
This year the GFRAS Annual Meeting will focus on “Global Good Practices in Rural Advisory Services”.
E-Agriculture will participate in the meeting and present the Community of Practice during one of the parallel workshops “Using ICTs in Rural Advisory Services: Challenges and ways forward” on September 15th from 14h00 – 18h00.
The AgriFuture Days 2015 will provide a platform to exchange techniques, ideas, concepts and friendship for experts and scholars from all over the world. During the event there will be a workshop on "Enabling Innovation for Informing farmers" and "ICTs supporting Innovative Advisory Services.
CTA’s Plug & Play – Tech-Dating for Agriculture: 3 upcoming events in October & November
CTA is organizing three Plug & Play “Tech-Dating for Agriculture” events during these upcoming conferences, to showcase the range of ICTs and mobile platforms developed and being implemented in the field.
CIAT Internal Conference on ICT4D
CIAT staff has been invited to submit short proposals in order to share and document experiences, and carving out opportunities for future applications of the use of ICTs.
